Thanks for the messages about our weblogs. As many of you have noticed, the blogs were only displaying information up to February 2007.
Unfortunately, the server hosting our weblogs failed to save our data and we have sadly lost all our work since the beginning of the year. It will take some time to get all the sites back running again, so please bear with us.
We will be holding an information evening at the Upper School on Thursday 8th February. The evening is intended to provide information for parents whose children are transferring between buildings or Key Stages in September 2007. This includes:
The evening will be held in the Upper School hall at 7pm.
On another note…we look forward to welcoming Year 4 to the Upper School tomorrow for their ‘get to know the school’ visit!

Congratulations to Year 5 and Year 6! They participated in the Shakespeare workshops yesterday and created a wonderful performance of Macbeth. It was fantastic to see everyone so involved and enjoying Shakespeare the way he intended it…alive and on the stage! Well done to you all! Just a quick note to remind parents and students that the appointment sheets for next week’s Parents Evenings are in the front entrance hall from today….
We are looking forward to welcoming members of the Shakespeare in Performance Project to our school next week. The actors are going to be leading Shakespeare workshops with all students in the Upper school. Year 5 and 6 will be working on ‘Macbeth’ and Year 7, 8, 9 and 10 will be working on ‘Twelfth Night’. The actors will be with us for 2 days, Wednesday 31st January and Thursday 1st February. Key Stage 2 will participate on Wednesday and Key Stages 3 and 4 on Thursday….you do not need to wear your uniform on that day…but instead dark clothes suitable for working on drama activities. There will be a performance of each play at the end of the day….parents and friends are invitied! In May some Year 5 and 6 children from Hope School in Shropshire will be visiting us here at the BSA Upper School. I have set up a blog for our Year 5 and 6 classes to communicate before the visit. It will be interesting to share some information about our school, the local area and the city of Amsterdam. If you would like to comment on questions, or indeed ask a question yourself, please go to the school links blog.

Happy New Year everyone! It is good to see you all back at school looking rested and full of enthusiasm for the New Year!
Just a quick note to repeat that which was written in the last school letter. Parent’s evenings for the Secondary school have changed and are no longer to be held on 23rd and 24th January. The evenings will now take place on the 30th and 31st January. School clubs begin next week but will not be held during the week of Parent’s evenings.
